Community members can make a difference for their local fire and EMS department. Fire Corps helps departments build more capacity by connecting them to community volunteers who can assist in a variety of non-emergency roles.
The Mountain View Fire Protection District has a Fire Corps program in place. Citizens can assist with non-emergency related activities like:
• Fire prevention programs with the community, schools and businesses.
• Assisting with administration activities like data entry, phones, filing.
• Assisting with grounds and facilities work.
• Fire Inspection programs to ensure fire codes are being followed by businesses.
• Assisting Emergency Medical Services division by helping set up programs and assist in training activity.
• Assist Fire District Training division by helping set up programs and assisting with training activity.
• Help maintain the antique fire truck “Engine 10” and help with taking it to various community activities.
• Help with our “Sparky” the fire dog program (robotic dog used in fire prevention activity).

• And many other activities yet to be planned (Shelter program in conjunction with the Red • Cross, possible canteen service for major incidents, etc.)
If you are interested in helping the fire district by volunteering your time is any of the above activities or some that you may have an idea for, please contact Starr Aldrich, Fire Corps Coordinator, at 303-772-0710.
