As the Town of Erie experienced the increase in population like the rest of the state, a new location was needed for Station #6.  The old station was limited in height and depth and the location was not in an area that best met the needs of the Fire District and the Town.  After a slow start, a location was chosen in the Grand View subdivision off Weld County Road 8.  This gave the District a better response to the Interstate for the south side of the District and access into the new growth in the area.  Built in 2002, this would reflect how the future fire station would be built for the District.  Reflecting the architect design of the surrounding area, Station #6 proves the Fire District's understanding of the needs of its taxpayers.
