The Maintenance Division's responsibilities include the preventative maintenance, inspection, and repair of a mixed fleet of vehicles. The MVFR fleet consists of 35 vehicles ranging in size from conventional cars and trucks up to full-size pumpers.

We are also charged with maintaining the various power equipment that can be found on much of the fleet. The maintenance staff has attended various classes through the following avenues:

• Colorado Fire Mechanics Association
• Denver Automotive & Diesel College
• Foam Pro
• International Association Of Fire Chiefs
• Waterous
• Wheeled Coach

Along with the shop duties that are performed we also work with other members of the district to anticipate future needs of the organization by researching new vehicles and industry trends that would benefit MVFPD, creating vehicle / equipment replacement plans, and writing specifications for new apparatus / equipment.
