It is the vision of the Mountain View Fire & Rescue Training Division to provide the highest quality training, instruction and evaluation to our members. This is intended to prepare our department to serve our communities in the most efficient and effective means possible, and to ensure personal safety as we deliver this service.
The Training Division is responsible for the on-going training of all in-service companies. With the numerous requirements placed upon the fire service today by the many regulatory agencies, the Training Division coordinates the training needed to comply with these established regulations. This division is staffed with one training Battalion Chief, one offline training Lieutenant, and one training Administrative Assistant.
The Training Committee serves an important role by organizing, conducting, and facilitating training along with communicating training needs and developing instructors from the Operations Division. The Training Division works on the development and implementation of the Annual Training Plan (ATP). The Annual Training Plan is the blueprint for all training within the Mountain View Fire & Rescue department, and is developed with input from the Training Committee and Command Staff, and establishes the training for the entire year.
