Fire Corps
Overview
Community members can make a difference for their local fire and EMS department. Fire Corps helps departments build more capacity by connecting them to community volunteers who can assist in a variety of non-emergency roles.

Mountain View Fire Rescue has a Fire Corps program in place. Citizens can assist with non-emergency related activities like:
  • Assist Fire District Training division by helping set up programs and assisting with training activity
  • Assisting Emergency Medical Services division by helping set up programs and assisting with training activity
  • Assisting with administration activities like data entry, phones, filing
  • Assisting with grounds and facilities work
  • Fire Inspection programs to ensure fire codes are being followed by businesses
  • Fire prevention programs with the community, schools, and businesses
  • Help maintain the antique fire truck “Engine 10” and help with taking it to various community activities
  • Help with our “Sparky” the fire dog program (robotic dog used in fire prevention activity)
  • Many other activities yet to be planned (shelter program in conjunction with the American Red Cross, possible canteen service for major incidents, etc.)
