🔥 2026 Mountain View Fire Rescue Kids and Teens Fire Academy 🔥

Adventure, teamwork, and a behind-the-scenes look at the fire service!

Mountain View Fire Rescue is excited to welcome students entering grades 2–12 to our Kids and Teens Fire Academy sessions. Participants will experience hands-on learning designed to intorduce them to the world of firefighting, emergency preparedness, and community service.

Led by MVFR firefighters and outreach instructors, kids and teens will experience what it takes to work as a team, respond to emergencies, and keep their communities safe.

Sessions include:

🚒 Firefighting gear and apparatus demonstrations
🧯 Fire safety and prevention lessons
🪓 Learning to safely use firefighting tools
💪 Team challenges and physical activities
🧠 Hands-on emergency response scenarios
👨‍🚒 Real-world insights from  MVFR firefighters

📅 2026 Schedule

We’re offering four sessions this summer to accommodate different age groups and locations:

Superior Location – 2701 S. Indiana St, Superior

  • June 22 - 25 | 9:00 AM–12:00 PM — KIDS (Entering Grades 2nd - 7th)
  • June 22 - 25 | 1:00 PM–4:00 PM — KIDS (Entering Grades 2nd - 7th)

Longmont Location – 111 First Ave, Longmont

  • July 6 - 9  | 9:00 AM–12:00 PM — KIDS (Entering Grades 2nd - 7th)
  • July 6 - 9  | 1:00 PM–4:00 PM — TEENS (Entering Grades 8th - 12th)

We are limiting each session to just 20 participants so sign up early!!

📝 Registration Information

Registration is now open via the Registration Link. Due to the high demand for our program, we are prioritizing participants who didn't get in last year.

If your child attended the academy last summer (2025) and would like to join again, they are still welcome to register—but will be placed on a waitlist initially. Our outreach team will notify returning participants if space becomes available on April 13th. Registration will close for all participants on June 12th to give our team time to prepare materials.

💲 Cost of Academy & Scholarship Program

  • Academy costs $40. Payment is not due until your registration has been confirmed by our community outreach team.
  • If the cost of the academy presents a financial hardship, we are offering scholarships to cover the cost.
