Health and Safety Committee

 

The Health and Safety Committee is dedicated to reducing workplace accidents and overall health of each employee. It is comprised of 12 members that include both line personnel and administrative staff. They review and investigate accidents to determine the cause and how to mitigate incidents. Every accident from slip, trips and falls to vehicle collisions are investigated.

The group also advocates to adopt health and wellness practices. Topics range from providing exercise routines to cancer prevention education. The committee provides recommendations to the Fire Chief regarding health and safety guidelines accompanied by training to reduce and/or prevent injury.
